Raytheon Australia has a unique opportunity for an experienced contracts, commercial or legal practitioner to support a cutting-edge technology acquisition program for the development of Joint Networks and Interface Controls for tactical data links connecting Air, Sea, Land and Special Forces.
You’ll move beyond traditional silos into a commercially focused, embedded role, partnering with engineers, program leaders and government stakeholders.
Key aspects include
- Advising on commercial strategy and contract risk across major Defence programs
- Drafting and negotiating complex, high-value agreements
- Translating legal frameworks into practical, business-focused solutions
- Supporting bids and proposals for next-generation technology programs
- Acting as a trusted advisor across the full program lifecycle
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial advice and the development of commercial solutions to achieve stakeholder objectives within a compliance framework.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements, working with key stakeholders to ensure that all requirements and risks are addressed.
- Contribute to bid and proposal activities, as required, including the preparation of commercial elements of bids and proposals and participation in management reviews.
- Provide interpretation and advice on customer procurement policy and regulations, company policy, and contract requirements (including terms and conditions), to stakeholders to inform decision-making.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer and supplier interfaces with the company during all phases of contract performance and the program life-cycle.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- A Degree in Business, Commerce or Law, with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Trained in commercial, projects, procurement, or technology contracts.
- Interested in moving closer to the business and decision-making
- Curious about technology, defence, or complex systems
- Commercially minded, with the confidence to engage directly with stakeholders
