Job Impact

We are seeking an experienced Gatehouse Security Officer to perform a high-profile role safeguarding a critical infrastructure site. This is a frontline position where professionalism, vigilance and integrity are essential.

About the role

The security team at this site plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, compliance and operational integrity of daily activities.

As the first point of contact for all vehicle movements, visitors and contractors entering the site, you will set the tone—delivering a professional and customer-focused experience while strictly enforcing security protocols.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Roster: 2 Days / 2 Nights (4 on / 4 off – 12-hour shifts)

Pay Rate: SSIA Level 3

Key responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Managing vehicle movement and gatehouse access control
• Screening visitors, contractors and deliveries entering and exiting site
• Providing high-level customer service while maintaining strict compliance
• Monitoring CCTV, alarms and Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Ensuring adherence to all site procedures, policies and access requirements
• Issuing, monitoring and auditing site access passes
• Maintaining accurate logs, reports and daily activity records
• Conducting patrols and reporting hazards or incidents as required
• Responding to and escalating security, safety and WHS incidents
• Communicating effectively via two-way radio and reporting systems
• Maintaining a strong safety-first mindset at all times

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a gatehouse or similar security role
• Strong experience in access control and managing vehicle movements
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge or experience with BMS systems
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and report writing capability
• Confident working independently

Mandatory Requirements

• Current QLD Security Licence (Unarmed & Monitoring Functions)
• Current QLD Driver’s Licence
• Current First Aid & CPR Certification
• Ability to pass site clearance and compliance requirements
