About the role

An Agile Coach has full responsibility for helping build high-performing teams at all levels of the organisation. The Agile Coach supports continuous improvement of Agile practices within their Product Area, Agile Tribes and Agile Squads. The Agile Coach also supports building agile capabilities across key programs. Agile Coaches act as ambassadors and multipliers of the agile way of working.

  • Design and develop Agile processes and practices, to create a culture of collaboration and learning, and actively demonstrate an Agile mindset and way of working.
  • Ensure the vision clearly articulates the Agile values, practices, methodologies and rationale.
  • Lead and coach others in facilitating the regular team ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Encourage and assist teams in measuring their Agile maturity and in maintaining a healthy backlog of continuous improvement.
  • Assist teams in understand their current state, how to experiment and continuously evolve how work is performed.
  • Create an environment of ‘build, measure and learn’ through coaching teams to define clear outcomes of their work and how success can be measured.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to understand progress, dependencies and impediments, in order to help teams achieve great team outcomes.
  • Act as a key contact point for stakeholders and partner with leaders to define and implement improvement processes across Finance to enable the department to respond quickly to emerging challenges.
  • Facilitate events to identify and drive opportunities for Agile transformation at all levels in the division.
  • Build, guide and grow the Agile Community of Practice and introduce best practice.
  • Coach others to apply system thinking and a value-based approach, focusing their attention on customer outcomes.
  • Act as a change agent, and as part of the team, leading and supporting teams and individuals in the Agile and Lean journey.
  • Provide technical excellence by developing and maintaining an understanding of the Allianz common scaling frameworks, as well as implementing Agile/Lean processes that are repeatable, sustainable and increase operational efficiencies.
  • Coach others in the process of standardising and documenting practices.
  • Work with others to implement improvement processes across the enterprise, designed to enable organisational ability to rapidly respond to upcoming challenges.

About you

  • A degree in Business Administration or similar and Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) / Agile Coaching / Product Owner / Release Train Engineer.
  • Extensive experience providing Agile coaching in organisations.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of Agile and Lean frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, with a preference for Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, communication, mentoring and listening skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, and coaching others to help develop and mature understanding of Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Proven Agile project management skills and expertise in change management.
  • Flexibility to deal with conflicting and changing priorities.
  • Ability to assess detailed technical issues as well as step back and look at the bigger picture
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and multi-level stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven expertise in developing others, ideally with leadership experience.
  • Experience in driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a Global organisation.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
