ROLE – Lead Systems Integration Engineer

SALARY - $140,000 - $170,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Adelaide, SA

My client specialises in the design and delivery of complex engineering and robotic solutions in a high-tech industry. They are looking for a Lead Systems Integration Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Systems Integration Engineering position
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or similar
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software integration within complex engineering systems
  • Experience with embedded systems, sensors, communications protocols and control systems
  • Knowledge of CAN bus, Ethernet, serial communications or similar networking protocols
  • Experience with system testing, validation and troubleshooting activities
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting/programming languages such as Python or C++ would be beneficial
  • Experience integrating sensors such as LiDAR, GPS, IMUs, cameras or telemetry systems would be advantageous
  • Able to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics and system architecture diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
  • Comfortable working in R&D and prototype development environments
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills and able to manage workload to project deadlines

The Lead Systems Integration Engineer role will involve:

  • Integrating software, hardware and control systems across a range of engineering projects
  • Supporting system design, configuration and testing activities
  • Conducting system integration, validation and verification activities
  • Troubleshooting integration, communication and performance issues across complex systems
  • Working closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Supporting prototype builds, testing and field trials
  • Integrating sensors, payloads and communications systems into robotic platforms
  • Assisting with system configuration, calibration and commissioning activities
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, reports and test procedures
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities for system reliability and performance
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team on varied and technically challenging projects
