Sitting within The Salvation Army’s Homelessness stream, the Kurlana Padnipadninya supports people transitioning from hospital into stable housing through a structured, therapeutic and recovery-oriented environment. The Tenancy Manager contributes to this by ensuring safe and well-managed accommodation, while supporting residents to build the skills and confidence needed to maintain their tenancy. Working alongside residents and team members, the role supports stability, connection, and progress toward longer-term housing outcomes.

About The Role

The Tenancy Manager provides tenancy and property support to residents transitioning from hospital care into temporary supported accommodation. The role is fully onsite at 146 Gilbert Street, Adelaide, working 22.8 hours per week, with flexible working days in a central city location. You will work closely with Counsellors, Peer Workers and Support Workers to address tenancy challenges, support residents with practical living skills, and maintain a safe and well‑managed environment.

This Part‑Time 0.6 FTE position is offered as a permanent role. Pay is in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.1.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Oversee tenancy agreements and support residents to understand their rights and responsibilities
  • Conduct property inspections and ensure rooms are prepared for new intakes
  • Manage rental income and maintain accurate tenancy records in a central database
  • Respond promptly and calmly to urgent tenancy or site matters
  • Represent The Salvation Army professionally in SACAT matters when required
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with residents, staff and stakeholders
  • Work closely with Counsellors to prevent tenancy breakdown
  • Support residents with practical living skills and tenancy responsibilities
  • Contribute to a culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Bring a calm, grounded and culturally aware approach that helps build trust with people from diverse backgrounds, including those who may not have English as a first language

What You Will Bring

  • Relevant certification in Tenancy Management and/or strong understanding of State tenancy laws
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in community services or similar sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar tenancy or housing role
  • Experience supporting people who may not have English as a first language
  • Understanding of trauma informed practice
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Sound computer literacy across Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse clients
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • SA Driver’s Licence
