As a Local Area Coordinator (LAC), you'll work alongside people with disability, their families and carers to connect them with the NDIS and their local community. You'll build trusted relationships to understand what matters most, explore individual goals and guide access to the services and supports needed to live the life they choose.

This dynamic, place-based role combines high quality customer service and collaboration while managing a diverse caseload and balancing multiple priorities, KPIs and deadlines with efficiency and professionalism.

What you'll do

  • Support people to understand the NDIS and assist with access to the NDIS, including eligibility, plan reassessments and implementation of funded, community and mainstream supports.
  • Work alongside participants, families and carers to turn their goals into action, build confidence and strengthen independence.
  • Connect people to their local community, helping them find and build informal supports and services that fit their needs.
  • Keep accurate, up to date records using Feros Care and NDIS systems and monitor progress to ensure participants are supported effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality, timely services that meet individual and organisational goals in line with performance targets.
  • Contribute to team and regional initiatives that improve accessibility, cultural safety, and inclusion.

What you'll bring

  • You're a natural communicator with strong people skills, who enjoys building relationships, delivering great customer service and helping others achieve their goals.
  • Experience supporting people with disability, or a background in community services, social work or a related field (lived experience valued).
  • An understanding of the NDIS or similar person-centred frameworks, with the ability to quickly learn systems and processes.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with proven ability to manage competing priorities, KPIs and caseloads while meeting service delivery deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative and empathetic approach.
  • Confidence using IT systems, including case management and data entry platforms, to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ability to work independently in community based settings, while staying connected to your team and organisational goals.
  • Adaptable, resourceful and engaging, with a commitment to inclusion and person-centred practice.
  • A passion for making a difference and aligning with values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative and bold.

Qualifications & Checks

  • Qualification in community services, disability, social work, or a related field (desirable).
  • Access to reliable transport to travel locally.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check & Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Undergo a NDIA Security Clearance.
  • Undergo a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • Valid Australian Working Rights.
  • Lived experience of disability is highly valued.
