TasNetworks is seeking an experienced
Senior Cyber Security Analyst to strengthen our cyber resilience across both IT and OT environments. In this senior specialist role, you will lead complex threat investigations, drive enterprise threat intelligence capability, and provide authoritative cyber security advice that protects Tasmania’s critical infrastructure.
You’ll work closely with system owners, engineers, operational teams and senior stakeholders to uplift our defensive posture, enhance incident response readiness, and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations including AESCSF and the SOCI Act. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving sophisticated security challenges, and wants to make a meaningful impact in a critical infrastructure setting.
What You’ll Do
- Lead threat intelligence — Develop and enhance enterprise threat intelligence practices, information sources and processes to strengthen threat‑informed decision making.
- Drive advanced threat detection — Conduct complex threat hunting, detection and analysis activities across IT and OT environments.
- Assess and communicate cyber risk — Prioritise vulnerabilities, analyse threat impacts and provide clear, risk‑based recommendations.
- Strengthen incident response — Lead cross‑functional investigations and coordinate technical response activities during cyber security incidents.
- Provide specialist advisory — Offer authoritative guidance on secure architecture, system hardening, vulnerability remediation and risk treatment.
- Support strategic uplift — Contribute to cyber strategy, roadmaps, standards, operational procedures and capability uplift initiatives.
- Collaborate across the enterprise — Work with engineering, operations, technology and risk teams to improve cyber resilience.
- Represent TasNetworks externally — Participate in industry forums, threat intelligence networks and critical infrastructure collaborations.
- Ensure regulatory alignment — Support compliance with AESCSF, SOCI and other relevant energy‑sector obligations.
About You
You are a highly capable cyber security specialist with deep experience in threat intelligence, incident analysis or threat hunting within complex enterprise or critical infrastructure environments. You bring strong judgement, advanced analytical capability and the confidence to lead investigations and influence risk‑based decisions.
You Will Bring
- Specialist cyber expertise — Demonstrated capability in threat intelligence, incident analysis, threat hunting or digital forensics.
- Critical infrastructure understanding — Experience working in or supporting OT environments and knowledge of energy‑sector frameworks.
- Regulatory awareness — Understanding of AESCSF, SOCI and relevant cyber and energy‑sector obligations.
- Advanced analytical skills — Ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns and make sound risk‑based decisions.
- Strong communication — Ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Stakeholder influence — Confidence engaging system owners, engineers and operational teams to drive timely risk mitigation.
- Innovation mindset — Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes, tools and defensive capability.
- Relevant qualifications — Degree in Security, Engineering, IT or equivalent relevant experience.
