Senior Parts Advisor
Take the next step in your parts career with an opportunity to mentor others, support strategic growth, and play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service. We're seeking an experienced Senior Parts Advisor to join our Darwin branch.
In this leadership‑focused role, you'll guide Parts Advisors day‑to‑day, support the development and implementation of sales strategies, and ensure our customers receive accurate, timely and professional parts support. You'll also provide expert parts interpreting services across the Parts, Service and Sales departments while helping to maintain strong inventory flow and operational efficiency.
About the Role
- Providing daily mentoring, coaching and support to Parts Advisors to maintain high customer service standards.
- Acting as 2IC to the Parts Manager, stepping in during leave or absence.
- Responding to customer enquiries at the counter and over the phone, ensuring accurate parts identification.
- Increasing and maximising parts sales, including associated products such as coolant and oil.
- Monitoring customer back orders and reviewing them weekly to maximise sales opportunities.
- Building strong customer relationships and promoting the use of genuine parts.
- Staying up to date with product developments and using this knowledge to support customers and the team.
- Supporting inventory management, including stock monitoring, forecasting and order review.
- Making recommendations on stock levels and inter‑branch transfers.
- Participating in stocktakes and parts call‑outs as required.
- Using up‑selling and cross‑selling methods to grow sales and promote new products.
- Making outbound calls when required to promote products, improvements and promotions.
About You
- High School Certificate; progress toward a Certificate in Parts Interpreting is desirable.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a parts interpreting or related role.
- Strong knowledge of MTU, Detroit Diesel, Allison and related product lines.
- Understanding of internal combustion engines (essential) and automatic transmissions (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret catalogues, bulletins and technical literature.
- Solid understanding of parts warehousing principles.
- Competent computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- A proactive, customer‑focused mindset with strong communication skills.
