Safety Officer

Australian Concert and Entertainment Security (ACES)

As a Safety Officer, you will play a hands-on role in identifying and managing workplace health and safety risks in dynamic event environments. You will work closely with Event Managers, contractors, venue stakeholders, and operational teams to ensure safety obligations are met and that events are delivered in a safe, compliant, and well-managed manner.

This role suits experienced safety professionals who are comfortable working in fast-paced environments, enjoy being on site, and are confident providing practical, solutions-focused safety advice.

The role requires flexibility and a willingness to travel nationally as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review CCTV systems and site activity to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Coordinate with security teams across multiple locations.
  • Respond to BMS, System and Building Alarms.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests in real-time.
  • Maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
  • Communicate with site supervisors, clients, and emergency services as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to operational procedures and safety protocols.
  • Support rostering, shift coverage, and workforce coordination.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Operating access control systems
  • Communicate with multiple clients across various States and Territories
  • Remaining vigilant for safety, emergency security and integrity incidents or issues across multiple campuses.
  • Supporting critical incident and emergency responses and assisting Security Operation teams with command, control, coordination and communication protocols
  • Coordinate and communicate with on-ground personnel, ensuring clear and accurate information flow.

‍ Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current NSW Security Licence (including monitoring subclass).
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Certificate III in Security Operations (or equivalent).
  • Ability to pass relevant background and police checks.
  • Previous experience in a control room or operations coordination role preferred.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with CCTV, radio, and communication systems.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to incidents.
  • Intermediate level computer literacy and report writing skills.
  • Intermediate level with Microsoft suite of products including outlook, word and excel.
  • Availability to be available days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • An understanding of WH&S and the ability to identify & manage risks.
