About The Role

Reporting to the Container Operations Superintendent, this role is responsible for coordinating and managing daily on-site activities across the Port Central and Northern Trade Precinct. You will play a key role in supporting efficient cargo operations, managing site access, and building strong relationships with port users, contractors and stakeholders.

This is a dynamic, frontline role that requires strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate access to port sites for lessees, contractors and visitors to support operational efficiency
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders across the Port Central and Northern Trade Precinct
  • Liaise with internal teams including Operations, Security and Environment to coordinate daily activities
  • Implement and ensure compliance with GPC policies, procedures and safety requirements on site
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, contractors and port users
  • Coordinate and supervise vessel movements, including mooring and unmooring activities
  • Monitor cargo operations and identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
  • Support operational and project activities as they evolve across the precinct
  • Provide assistance across other GPC sites (e.g. Port Alma and Bundaberg) as required

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in logistics, port operations, or a similar operational environment
  • Knowledge of vessel mooring procedures and cargo operations, or the ability to quickly develop this capability
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, customers and internal teams
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities in a dynamic environment
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work with operational systems
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to represent GPC professionally on site

Mandatory

Qualifications and Requirements

  • C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)

Desirable

  • Associate Diploma or qualification in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain (or equivalent experience)
  • Oil Spill Responder Level 3 (or ability to obtain)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience in a port operations or logistics environment
