The Junior Project Engineer supports the planning, delivery and management of planned maintenance and capital works projects. This position contributes technical expertise, ensuring compliance against contract and activity specifications, whilst delivering to the program and budget.

Reporting Line: Contract Manager

Salary: $95,000.00+

Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing road maintenance contracts, ensuring works are delivered to the approved works programs, specification and budget
Monitor budgets by tracking expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial forecasts to identify variances and implement corrective actions
Using draft works programs, inspection and survey information, asset data, aerial photography, office-based visualisation tools and site visits to confirm scopes of work
Providing support and site management to ensure works are delivered in accordance with the schedule, and in compliance with all applicable risk controls and health and safety regulations
Assist in the preparation of monthly internal and external reporting, using data analysis techniques to extract, transform, analyse and present data
Schedule and monitor maintenance tasks, utilising the asset management system to issue works
Coordinate works with subcontractors to ensure quality and compliance
Confirming and documenting job quality and completion via onsite inspections
Contributing to continuous improvement of programming and management of works
Develop traffic management plans and implement traffic management optimisation programs
Use strategic traffic data analysis to inform traffic management decisions

About You

At least one year experience in a mechanical or civil works environment.
Experience in managing internal workforces or delivery partners to deliver services to specification, program and budget.
Exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong data analytics skills, utilising techniques to analyse and present data in Microsoft Excel.
Traffic competency - TMD 1, 2 and 3
A current Victorian driver’s license is mandatory.
A formal engineering qualification (B. Eng or higher) is mandatory.
