About the role
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team at our Norwest office. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial health of the business through effective collections, claims management, account reconciliation and customer relationship management. Managing a portfolio of customer accounts, you will be responsible for allocating
payments, reviewing and releasing sales orders, following up overdue accounts, resolving customer queries and managing claims through to resolution. Working closely with Customer Service, Sales, Operations and Finance teams, you'll investigate and resolve payment issues, support cash flow outcomes and help ensure an excellent customer experience. This is a varied role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to balance customer relationships with achieving commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily allocation of incoming payments and account reconciliations
- Review and release customer sales orders in line with credit and payment terms
- Proactive follow-up of overdue invoices via phone, email and customer portals
- Investigate and resolve customer payment queries, disputes and account issues
- Manage customer claims through to resolution, working closely with internalstakeholders
- Reconcile and maintain major customer accounts, ensuring outstanding items are resolvedpromptly
- Assess and review new customer credit applications and customer risk profiles
- Prepare customer statements, debtor reporting and support cash forecasting activities
- Maintain accurate customer records, documentation and account information
- Identify opportunities to improve Accounts Receivable processes, cash collection andcustomer outcomes
About you
Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable or Collections professional who knows that
successful debt collection is about more than simply chasing payments? You bring proven experience managing customer accounts, resolving disputes, assessing risk and finding practical solutions that achieve results while maintaining strong customer relationships. Comfortable working within an ERP system and using Excel to analyse and manage data, you're someone who can think
on your feet, navigate difficult conversations professionally and confidently negotiate positive outcomes.
You take pride in getting things right the first time, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy digging deeper to understand the root cause of issues rather than applying quick fixes. Just as importantly, you're proactive, commercially minded and enjoy being part of a collaborative team where people support one another, share ideas and continuously look for better ways of working. What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control or Collections
- Experience managing overdue debt, customer disputes and claims through to resolution
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to buildrelationships while achieving commercial outcomes
- Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics or similar highly regarded)
- Intermediate Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUPs and data analysis
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with confidence handlingdifficult conversations
- Ability to think on your feet, manage competing priorities and proactively identifysolutions
