About the Department / Program

The BeWell Program is part of the Psychology Program at Monash Health and has been operating for more than five years. It plays a central role in Monash Health’s broader organisational wellbeing strategy, providing, promoting, and supporting the psychological wellbeing of all staff.

BeWell delivers comprehensive wellbeing services across several key domains, including:

Individual proactive wellbeing support

In‑house Psychological First Aid following critical incidents

Team‑based wellbeing sessions, including reflective practice and topic‑focused workshops

Consultation to senior leaders to strengthen mentally healthy, high‑performing workplaces

About the Role

We are seeking Senior Psychologists (Grade 4) to join our team on an ongoing basis. We have 1.0 EFT available, with the intention of appointing several part‑time clinicians. The role spans all Monash Health sites and operates under the leadership of the Manager of BeWell / Deputy Director of Psychology.

This position provides tailored wellbeing support to Monash Health staff through both intervention and rapid response. A key component of the role is acting as the first point of contact for teams seeking support, conducting initial triage, and designing interventions that meet the specific needs of each team. There is a consistently high demand for Psychological First Aid following critical incidents or challenging workplace events.

The role also contributes to the ongoing development of Monash Health’s wellbeing strategy, offering significant opportunities for program development, innovation, and service enhancement.

About You

A genuine passion for supporting healthcare workers through prevention, promotion, and responsive wellbeing initiatives

Strong knowledge of evidence‑based approaches that enhance psychological wellbeing

Well‑developed self‑care practices that enable you to support staff within a large healthcare system.

The ability to respond flexibly and energetically to immediate service needs, with sound judgement in prioritising requests

Extensive understanding of the public healthcare system

A commitment to high‑quality psychological intervention and its impact on staff wellbeing

Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to translate psychological concepts into practical, accessible information

Strong written and verbal communication skills, active listening, and well‑honed negotiation and influencing abilities

Motivation, initiative, and enthusiasm for contributing to and shaping wellbeing services across Monash Health

Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships,

Registration and endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in accordance with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009

Approved supervisor with AHPRA as principal and secondary supervisor in area of endorsement

Minimum 8 years’ experience as a registered psychologist

Demonstrated ability to provide tailored interventions

Demonstrated extensive experience in professionally supervising and coordinating the supervision of other psychologists

Prior experience in public health setting

Experience and training in the delivery of Psychological First Aid (PFA)
