Job description

• Location: Canberra ACT, Adelaide SA, Melbourne VIC
• Initial Contract: 12 months contract + 2 X 12 months extension
• Must be an Australian Citizen with an active Baseline clearance

FinXL is seeking a results-driven Senior Systems Analyst to join a large-scale federal government technology environment. In this role, you will be responsible for translating business needs and requirements into technical requirements and specifications for enhancements that align with relevant architectures. This position has a strong focus on designing, creating, evaluating, and documenting robust ICT solutions for both new and existing systems to ensure they meet user needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into ICT system requirements and write functional specifications from business requirements.
• Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and technical requirements.
• Create, design, and maintain comprehensive solution documents and system components to meet business expectations.
• Perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility, resource effort, risks, and benefits.
• Conduct critical testing activities, including test planning, execution coverage reviews, and defect management.
• Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design, and testing documents.
• Collaborate closely with Software Architects, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Developers, and Testers to ensure effective and timely project implementation.
• Support daily operations, monitor the performance of business solutions, and manage the lifecycle of changes and improvements to systems.
• Review research, process models, and documentation of other staff, providing helpful guidance and feedback.

Technical Skill & Experience

• Core Systems Analysis: Proven experience designviews, writing functional specifications, and creating detailed design specifications to form the basis for system construction.
• Methodology & Lifecycle: Ability to adapt quickly to software development lifecycles, deployment procedures, and cybersecurity policies.
• Problem Solving: Strong capability to resolve or escalate complex issues, propose alternative technical approaches, and perform cost analysis activities.
