Make a real difference supporting renters across Gippsland through advocacy, tenancy support and early intervention to sustain housing, located in Morwell VIC 3840 AU

• Provide case management, advocacy and practical support to renters experiencing tenancy issues or at risk of housing breakdown.
• Assist renters to understand their rights, navigate tenancy processes and access appropriate services and supports.
• Advocate on behalf of tenants with landlords, real estate agents, housing providers and at VCAT where required.
• Build strong partnerships with community agencies, government departments and referral services to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
• Maintain accurate client records, prepare reports and stay informed on tenancy legislation, policies and best practice.

The Ideal Candidate will bring:

• Experience in case management, tenancy support, advocacy or a related community services role, with a strong commitment to achieving positive client outcomes.
• Sound knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, Social Housing policies and tenancy advocacy processes, including experience supporting clients through VCAT matters.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated understanding of homelessness, housing stress and the challenges faced by vulnerable communities, including culturally safe practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Excellent organisational skills, resilience and adaptability, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence |Working with Children Check |Police Check
• Minimum requirement of Diploma of Community Services or other relevant or appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to this position.
