Role: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

This role is responsible for assisting the Underwriting teams to manage the insurance portfolio for medical practitioners and medical practices that are within Avant’s risk appetite to achieve sustainable growth in line with Avant’s portfolio objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with underwriting renewal and new business, ensure accuracy of underwriting information and data and actively support portfolio growth
  • Management of the flow of applications for new business and renewals
  • Direct client and prospect contact including outbound sales calls;
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and manage the reporting of business by channel;
  • Support the team to provide an underwriting service to Avant internal and external stakeholders, customers and members that meets or exceeds service level obligations; and
  • Participate in a high performing team and support good business outcomes.

Key skills required to perform the role

  • Experience in a similar product management role within finance or insurance
  • Experience with general insurance products preferably in Professional Indemnity or Medical Indemnity,
  • Experience dealing with direct customers through either sales or service with experience in financial services products
  • Demonstrated ability to support the reporting requirements of the team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build positive working relationships.
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, interpret and apply new information, processes systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
