What You'll Do
- Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and full auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
- Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security standards, and metadata management across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
- Enable secure, governed access to sensitive datasets for analytics, AI development, and external collaborations while protecting confidential and patient-related information
- Evaluate and improve data quality standards to ensure datasets meet the rigorous demands of AI training and life sciences research
- Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data governance frameworks with real-world workflows
Who You Are
- Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or other regulated data environments
- Deep understanding of data privacy, security, compliance requirements, and regulatory expectations specific to research and clinical trial data
- Confident collaborating across multidisciplinary teams — from bench scientists and IT architects to compliance officers and external partners
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating complex data ecosystems with competing stakeholder needs
- Able to translate technical governance requirements into clear, actionable policies and standards
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training data pipelines
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, HIPAA, or GDPR as applied to clinical and research data
- Background in clinical data management, biostatistics, or bioinformatics
- Experience with data cataloguing tools, metadata management platforms, or data lineage systems
