Within Financial Crime Services (FCS), we play a critical role in protecting our customers and communities by detecting, deterring and disrupting financial crime.
This role sits within FCO Capability, a team responsible for building and uplifting the capability of Financial Crime analysts to operate effectively in a highly regulated, risk-sensitive environment.
FCO Capability partners closely with operations, risk, and domain teams to design scalable learning solutions that strengthen analyst judgement, improve decision quality and support safe, compliant customer outcomes.

As part of FCO Capability, you will work within the Learning Experience and Design discipline to build capability across key Financial Crime domains, including:
- Know Your Customer (KYC)
- Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD)
- Transaction Monitoring
- Sanctions and Financial Crime Investigations
You’ll play a key role in designing learning that supports analysts to move from onboarding through to independent, high-quality decision-making in complex operational environments.
Do work that matters
As a Learning Designer in FCO Capability, you will:
- Design and develop fit-for-purpose learning solutions that enable analysts to identify, assess and respond to financial crime risks (AML/CTF, sanctions, typologies)
- Partner with Learning Partners, SMEs and Financial Crime stakeholders to translate complex policy, regulatory and operational requirements into practical learning experiences
- Build skills-based learning pathways that support progression from foundational knowledge to advanced judgement and decision-making
- Embed real-world scenarios, case-based learning and assessment frameworks to strengthen analyst judgement and defensible decision-making
- Design learning aligned to risk, QA insights and audit expectations, ensuring consistency, quality and traceability
- Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data, performance insights and stakeholder feedback
- Contribute to standard ways of working, including design frameworks, governance and content lifecycle management
- Support the uplift of digital, blended and scalable learning solutions across FCO
- Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing
We’re Interested In Hearing From People Who Have
- Strong experience in Instructional Design and digital learning development
- Proven ability to design learning in complex, risk or compliance-driven environments (Financial Crime, Risk, Compliance, or Banking preferred)
- Experience translating policy, procedures and regulatory requirements into effective learning solutions
- Capability in designing scenario-based and judgement-led learning experiences
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience partnering with SMEs and operational leaders
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
- Proficiency in Articulate and modern learning technologies
- Experience using a Human Centred Design approach to discover needs, undertake gap analysis and define high impact solutions.
- Experience identifying and utilising relevant data to validate learning needs and generate success measures.
- Sound understanding of adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated experience in content curation and creation of pathways and programs
