About The Company

Cell Therapies Pty Ltd (CTPL) is a commercial CDMO located within the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.

With more than 23 years’ experience, CTPL specialises in the development, technology transfer, GMP manufacture and delivery of advanced cell therapies. Our work spans autologous, allogeneic, genetically modified and non-genetically modified cellular therapy products, supporting programs from clinical development through to commercial manufacture.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced

Finance Officer who will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll function and to support month-end and accounts payable tasks.

This is a full-time position located at our new, state-of-the-art Melbourne facility, in the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on the edge of the CBD in Australia’s most dynamic biomedical precinct.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Management of end-to-end payroll function for all employees
  • Maintain payroll systems, master data, pay items and configurations in line with awards, legislation and company policies
  • Oversee payroll‑related compliance, including superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, IAS, WorkCover and supporting broader statutory tax obligations
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, resolve payroll enquiries and provide guidance to staff and managers
  • Assist the Finance team with month‑end reconciliations, audits, accounts payable processing, cash monitoring and invoice payments
  • Prepare regular payroll and financial reports, partner with stakeholders and contribute to budgeting and forecasting
  • Drive process and system improvements across payroll and accounts payable to enhance efficiency and internal controls
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of payroll, taxation and superannuation regulations and participate in ongoing training

To be successful in this role

Preferred Candidates Will Have The Following Skills And Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in similar Payroll roles
  • Process and deadline driven mindset with a keen eye for detail to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely payroll files
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop ongoing working relationships to meet a variety of stakeholder requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer software skills, including Excel and other
  • Payroll/financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Working knowledge and application of Payroll obligations and standards

While not essential, the following experience would be considered advantageous:

  • Experience in a chartered accounting firm or the pharmaceutical sector
  • Experience with SAP/HR3
