An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a fast-paced, operationally driven business on a contract basis. This role will take ownership of financial reporting, business partnering, and performance analysis across a multi-site Queensland operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and can step in quickly to add value.
Job Description
- Leading month-end close processes and delivering reporting within strict deadlines
- Preparing monthly and annual financial statements in line with group requirements
- Producing management reports, variance analysis, and financial insights
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and re forecasting activities
- Monitoring financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal policies
- Maintaining strong internal controls and supporting audit processes
- Partnering with operations to drive cost control initiatives and performance improvements
- Delivering commercial insights including pricing, margin and profitability analysis
- Supporting strategic initiatives through financial modelling and business case analysis
- Leading and mentoring a small finance team
The Successful Applicant
- CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role
- Strong technical accounting and financial management capability
- SAP Experience - Highly Desirable
- Experience in logistics, transport, or a similar operational environment is highly advantageous
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence decision-making
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced setting
