Lead end-to-end QA for major enterprise ICT initiatives, managing strategy, defects, automation, and vendors in a hybrid role.

• Location: Brisbane North (50% Hybrid Flexibility)
• Contract Term: 12 Months (Commencing late June 2026)
• Compensation: $88 - $100 per hour + super

A major public sector entity is seeking an accomplished

QA Test Lead to drive end-to-end quality assurance for high-priority enterprise ICT initiatives.

In this pivotal role, you will champion risk-based and requirements-driven testing methodologies to guarantee the seamless delivery of robust software solutions.

Operating in a highly collaborative environment, you will serve as the principal advisor on testing lifecycle strategy, bridging the gap between technical delivery teams, external vendors, and senior business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Governance: Design, implement, and govern comprehensive test strategies and blueprints aligned with international industry benchmarks (ISTQB).
• End-to-End Delivery: Oversee comprehensive testing phases including system, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support. Provide definitive recommendations on release readiness.
• Defect & Risk Management: Spearhead defect triage protocols, analyse root causes, and deliver clear quality metrics to stakeholders to mitigate deployment risks.
• Team Leadership: Direct and mentor internal test analysts alongside external vendor teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Modern Practices: Shape the automation framework roadmap and embed quality engineering gates within modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Continuous Evolution: Keep pace with emerging testing trends, advocating for the adoption of cloud testing and AI-assisted QA methodologies.

Mandatory Criteria

• A tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) accreditation or an internationally recognised equivalent.
• Proven track record of driving QA strategy and leading testing teams within complex, large-scale enterprise ICT environments.

Highly Regarded

• Advanced QA certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Test Manager (CTAL-TM) or AI Testing qualifications.
• Strong familiarity with modern DevOps practices, Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Practical experience managing test tooling eco-systems (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• An interest or background in deploying AI-driven testing methods within an enterprise landscape.
