The Opportunity
We are seeking an inquisitive, growth-oriented
Stormwater Engineer to join our collaborative Adelaide team. Working under the guidance of Senior Engineers and Project Leaders, you will support the successful delivery of high-quality stormwater and flood management infrastructure for both greenfield developments and established infill areas.
Where You Are
The role is located in Adelaide however you will work on projects throughout Australia, predominately South Australia and Victoria.
Who You Are
- A passionate and proactive team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- A technical problem-solver with up to 3 years’ experience of professional engineering experience.
- Enthusiastic about working in multi-disciplinary teams in a national team format.
What You'll Do
- Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for stormwater systems, open channels, rivers, and pump stations.
- Utilise industry-standard software tools including DRAINS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MUSIC, 12d Model, and AutoCAD.
- Process and analyse spatial datasets using QGIS and scripting languages like Python.
- Prepare professional technical calculations, assessments, reports, figures, and proposals.
- Plan and design flood mitigation, stormwater drainage, and water quality infrastructure.
- Undertake site inspections, fieldwork, and project data collection.
- Assist with the administration and superintendence of construction and service contracts.
- Collaborate with local government clients, developers, and national multi-disciplinary project teams.
What You Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Secondary qualifications in Mathematical or Computer sciences will be considered favourably.
- Understanding and application of relevant Australian Standards, legislation, and industry design codes.
- A strong interest and aptitude for learning complex hydraulic and hydrologic modelling.
- Ability to understand, develop, and contribute to data-processing pipelines using Python.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
