About ABC Product & Technology
The Product & Technology (P&T) division is responsible for delivering the technology and services that enable the ABC to fulfil its creative, strategic and business goals. The scope of activities and responsibilities of the P&T division range from keeping ABC programs and services on-air and on-line, to delivering on key projects, as well as assisting in setting the technology strategy and architecture for the ABC.
About The Role
This role will see you deliver timely, cost-effective, high-quality technology support services to ABC users in South Australia, in support of ABC program and network needs to ensure broadcast continuity.
You will also provide straightforward technical assistance to minimise downtime and ensure broadcast continuity around the clock. You’ll work across a range of baseband & IP Technologies, that may include audio studios one day, and TV production studios the next. Shift work is an inherent part of this position.
The Role Will Also Involve
- Investigating and logging faults; escalating problems to system experts and service providers as required
- Assisting in the maintenance of system and facility asset registers, technical databases, manuals and technical drawings.
- Performing technical operations as required including TV Master Control and program links.
- Consulting and communicating with clients to identify their needs, advise on potential solutions and resolve straightforward technical issues.
- Engaging in effective teamwork and communications to build a positive work culture within the team.
- Occasional regional travel will be required

About You
We are seeking a Technologist with demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience in broadcast Technology or related field.
Skills
You will have sound communication skills with a strong client focus. In addition to your ability to interact positively with clients, understand and meet their needs, and convey technical information in a clear and concise manner, you will also have:
- Demonstrated proficient capability in technical support functions, including TV and audio production troubleshooting, fault resolution, maintenance, upgrades, installation and operations.
- Ability to manage your own workload and priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Strong team commitment and interpersonal skills and behaviours.
- An understanding of the direction of technical innovation and its application in the broadcast industry.
- A current, valid Driver’s Licence and ability to occasionally travel regionally and interstate
