Our Queensland Government client is currently seeking a Principal Business Analyst for an initial contract until end of December with possible extension.
The role
Within this team, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of systems under the PAM Framework. Your primary focus will be leading critical business analysis activities to ensure the successful design, delivery, and integration of these systems. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, project teams, policy experts, and ICT teams to translate complex policy objectives into actionable operational processes and system functionality. This role requires a strategic thinker with advanced analytical skills, exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Your contributions will support the effective implementation of procurement reform initiatives across the whole-of-government.
What you will be doing
- Facilitating requirements-gathering workshops with internal and external stakeholders to identify and document business and system requirements for various systems under the PAM Framework.
- Developing and overseeing the creation of comprehensive business and functional requirements documentation, ensuring alignment with policy objectives and operational needs.
- Mapping current and future-state processes to support the design and implementation of systems under the PAM Framework.
- Developing and refining user stories, acceptance criteria, and other documentation to guide system development and implementation.
- Identifying and defining data requirements, reporting needs, and performance measurement mechanisms to support the systems.
- Acting as the primary liaison between policy, ICT, and operational teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Overseeing data profiling, cleansing, migration, and transformation activities to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Developing and managing the execution of test strategies, plans, and test cases, and overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Analysing system bugs, managing enhancement requests, and prioritising new development activities in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Developing user manuals, training materials, and end-user support strategies for systems under the PAM Framework.
The skills you will need include being able to:
- Extensive experience in business analysis, including leading requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation of business and system requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes across diverse groups.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data profiling, cleansing, and transformation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing test strategies, plans, and test cases, and leading UAT.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
