About the opportunity
The purpose of the Impairment Benefit Analyst is to provide technical expertise to Agents and the Claims Division focussing on the second entitlement period, specifically ensuring that Agents’ estimation and assessment of Whole Person Impairment (WPI) is completed in accordance with the AMA Guides and relevant legislation. Key accountabilities include:
- Overseeing and improving Agent performance at the second entitlement review period (130 week).
- Providing expert guidance and direction to Agent staff, including reporting and representation of second entitlement period performance outcomes to senior management, internal stakeholders, and external forums.
- Providing expert advice and support to other areas of the business in relation to second entitlement period claims management.
- Co-ordinating and participating in claim reviews and/or health checks with Agents relevant to the second entitlement period.
- Monitoring Agent performance against relevant measures and provides feedback on improvement opportunities or the implementation of corrective action plans relating to the second entitlement period.
- Engaging with Agent representatives both formally through meetings and informally through one on one discussions on issues to improve capability and performance within Agent teams.

About you
You are Second Entitlement or an Impairment Benefits WPI expert who is looking for a challenge and to make a difference. You have a passion for assisting the Victorian community and are driven to provide the highest level of service.
- You will have knowledge of claims management processes particularly an understanding of the Victorian system for managing, compensating work injuries, including the ACCtion and NOVUS systems.
- You will be able to provide evidence of completion of training in the application of AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fourth Edition and the Guide to the Evaluation of Psychiatric Impairment for Clinicians.
- You can demonstrate technical understanding of the processes surrounding legislative statutory entitlements.
- You have a high level of communication skills (written and oral), including facilitation of groups, the ability to give advice and information and be able to interpret existing legislation and policy particularly relating to claims management.
- You will have expertise in the management of stakeholder issues, complaints, and the ability to provide positive solutions to issues as these arise and the ability to address systemic issues.
- You have demonstrated excellent planning and organisation skills and to work to deadlines.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and claims agents.
