Position – Business Analyst

Location - Melbourne

Duration - 12 months (with an possibility of extension)

Job Description -

  • SDLC awareness with demonstrated experience in using tools such as Jira and ADO with the ability to write user stories and create journey maps in Figma/Visio.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Agile methodologies with a strong understanding of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, system analysis, and requirements engineering principles, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable user stories and technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in assessing technical requirements, capabilities, and constraints of policing operational technology systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify root causes of technology related challenges and recommend effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritise tasks effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements tin a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Experience in maintaining and managing product backlogs, including refining user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and prioritising features based on business value and stakeholder feedback.
  • Hands-on experience in spring planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospectives ceremonies, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to plan, execute and deliver increments of working software iteratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify root causes of technology related challenges and recommend effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and requirements effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Deliverable

  • Conduct meetings and workshops as required to elicit and document the current state pain points, desired future state, and requirements to complete the Business Requirements Document, to the agreed template.
  • Lead and manage the definition of business requirements and design of processes, including functional requirements, design constraints, and any gap analysis between potential solution and desired future state processes and solution.
  • Complete the mapping of business requirements to an end-to-end technology and/or business process solution.
  • Definition of demonstration and/or proof of concept scenarios for the purposes of product evaluation.
  • Provide timely, accurate project information to Project Manager in relation to status, issues, risks, budget, and other forms of reporting as required
