LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE
As a Communications Testing and Assurance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and performance of complex radio and telecommunications systems across a major infrastructure program. From early-stage planning through to commissioning and trial operations, you’ll be responsible for verifying that systems are delivered in line with design, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end role where you’ll collaborate with design, delivery, and contractor teams to ensure seamless integration and testing outcomes across multiple communication technologies including DAS, public safety networks and 5G environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) ensuring traceability to specifications and clear acceptance criteria
- Coordinate and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), First Article Inspections and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Verify installation and system performance against design documentation and interface requirements
- Manage non-conformance processes including root cause analysis, corrective actions and close-out tracking
- Lead interface testing activities by preparing detailed interface test plans and coordinating with multiple contractors
- Oversee quality assurance across the supply chain, including subcontractor surveillance and documentation review
- Maintain accurate testing records, quality registers and compliance evidence within document management systems
- Support commissioning readiness, audit activities and technical assurance milestones across the project lifecycle
LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU
You bring strong experience in testing and commissioning telecommunications or radio systems within large-scale infrastructure environments, along with a passion for quality and technical assurance.
Your background includes hands-on involvement in DAS, public safety networks or mobile communications technologies such as LTE and 5G, with a clear understanding of how to validate performance against complex design and contractual requirements.
You’ve developed and executed Inspection and Test Plans and are confident managing structured test activities across FAT and SAT phases, working closely with contractors, vendors and cross-functional teams. Your ability to navigate non-conformance processes, drive outcomes and maintain compliance documentation ensures rigorous quality outcomes.
You are comfortable working within structured quality management frameworks and document-controlled environments, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain traceability across all testing and assurance activities.
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics or a related discipline—or equivalent industry experience—underpins your technical capability, alongside several years delivering testing and assurance outcomes on complex projects.
