About the role

We are seeking a Development Engineer to join our Planning Department Services Team. In this role, you will apply your specialist civil engineering knowledge to support and influence the City’s land development process, underpinned by a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering. You will play a role in coordinating and assessing Structure Plans, Subdivision Plans, Development Applications and Civil Engineering approvals.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  • Knowledge of planning process and the relevant statutory guidance for Greenfield subdivision and urban infill development sites.
  • An ability to perform composite analysis, interpret technical data and consider complex design elements attached to the provision of road and drainage infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the modelling and implementation of urban water management concepts.
  • Knowledge of project management, construction techniques, materials and coordination of civil engineering related works.
  • Experience with software packages such as 3D Civil.
  • Quality communication (verbal and written) and a high-level negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team.

What we offer

This position offers a gross annual salary of $120,603 - $128,590 per annum and:

  • 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
