Defence Digital & Engineering Lead

THE WORK: We are looking for a Digital & Engineering Lead - Defence to lead systems engineering and digital engineering functions across complex, large-scale defence or critical infrastructure programs in Australia. In this role, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle, and help deliver outcomes aligned to Commonwealth procurement frameworks, Australian Defence standards, and major infrastructure requirements.

You will lead, coach and develop systems engineering teams across the full engineering lifecycle, while supporting workforce planning, mentoring and capability development aligned to INCOSE and organisational standards.

• Define and manage system architectures, interfaces, requirements and verification strategies.

• Deliver engineering artefacts in line with AS/NZS ISO 15288, the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook and relevant project frameworks.

• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering practices where relevant to improve traceability, integration and delivery confidence.

• Manage engineering reviews, technical risk, configuration control, change management and system assurance activities.

HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Experience leading systems engineering delivery in complex defence, government or major infrastructure environments.

• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle delivery, requirements management, verification and validation, and gated review processes.
