About The Team
The Nutrition & Dietetics department provides comprehensive nutrition services to hospital inpatients and outpatients, professional colleagues, and the broader community. Our dietitians have specialist knowledge of nutrition throughout all stages of the life cycle and provide expert care on a range of issues including fertility and pregnancy, neonatal nutrition, gynaecological oncology, disorders of gut-brain interaction, PCOS, pelvic pain and endometriosis.
About The Role
This position is primarily responsible for providing dietary assessment and medical nutrition therapy to women attending our outpatient and inpatient services. Your allocated clinical workload may include a general (non-maternity) diet outpatient clinic, a maternity outpatient clinic and some inpatient cover. Additional involvement will be in student training, quality improvement and departmental projects.
A Regular Week May See You
- Provide comprehensive nutritional care across an allocated clinical workload, including dietary assessment, planning and implementation, monitoring, safe discharge, and follow-up
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families regarding optimal nutritional care for each patient
- Provide support for leave cover in the department when required and perform other duties as guided by the department manager
About You
You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys working as part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to excellence in patient care.
You Will Bring With You
- Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Eligibility for status as Accredited Practising Dietitian with Dietitians Australia
- At least two years’ experience as a clinical dietitian in a hospital setting
- Experience in providing dietary assessment and medical nutrition therapy to support women’s health, including for pregnancy, disorders of gut-brain interaction, PCOS, and pelvic pain
