Renown Kindergarten

Renown Kindergarten in South Yarra has been providing kindergarten for young children since it opened its doors in 1920. Renown continues to operate as a standalone sessional kindergarten with a Committee of Management. Renown offers three different kindergarten programs, including our Three and Four year old programs and our Bilingual program for 3 and 4 year olds. The Bilingual program is a specialised French/English kinder program based on the French National Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework. Our programs are all team-taught by ECT’s. In 2025, Renown Kindergarten was awarded an Excellent rating by ACEQCA.

We are seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our supportive team on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours per week), commencing Term 4, 2026 and for the entirety of 2027 for a maternity leave cover. This role has the potential to be extended long term. In this role, you will collaborate with our kindergarten team to deliver high-quality early childhood education and create inclusive, engaging environments that reflect the needs and interests of children and families. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected community kindergarten. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate a holistic curriculum aligned with the VEYLDF, working within a team-teaching model to support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver a play-based, child-centred curriculum tailored to each child * Observe, assess, and document learning to inform planning * Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues * Embed inclusive practices, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and anti-bias approaches * Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and professional standards * Maintain confidentiality and complete mandatory reporting and Child Safe training We welcome applications from teachers committed to building strong relationships and thriving in a collaborative, reflective team environment. * Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA approved equivalent) * Current VIT registration. * Current First Aid, Mandatory Reporting, National Child Safety training, and WWC Check. * Strong working knowledge of National Law, Regulations, VEYLDF, NQS, and Child Safe Standards.
