McInnes Wilson
The Opportunity
At McInnes Wilson Lawyers, we continue to invest in our CTP practice as part of our broader national growth. Recognised by the Australian Financial Review as one of the Top 30 Fastest Growing Firms, we offer the scale, stability and sophistication of a national firm while maintaining a genuinely collaborative and personable culture.
We have an opportunity for an Associate to join our Sydney-based NSW CTP team, working with a strong and established client base. Our Sydney CTP practice is well regarded in the insurance market and acts for leading insurers on a broad range of statutory motor accident claims.
This role is ideal for a developing CTP lawyer looking to build their expertise while taking increasing ownership of matters, supported by experienced senior lawyers and Principals. You will work across a mix of straightforward and more complex claims, gaining valuable hands-on experience, including direct client exposure and involvement in strategic decision-making.
You will have direct access to two experienced Principals, providing mentoring, guidance and structured development as you strengthen your technical skills, advocacy capability and commercial approach to claims management.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 2–4 years’ post-admission experience in NSW CTP or insurance litigation
- Experience assisting with or managing CTP matters, with the ability and confidence to progress toward running files with increasing autonomy
- Exposure to the PIC and/or Courts (including conferences, directions hearings or procedural matters)
- Strong written communication and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and well-structured advice and correspondence
- Confidence in your work and decision-making, with a proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks and matters
- A pragmatic and commercially aware approach to claims management
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Sound attention to detail, good judgment and a strong professional work ethic
Your New Team
You will be joining a high-performing and supportive CTP team that values teamwork, open communication and practical problem-solving. The team works closely together, sharing knowledge and experience to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients.
With a mix of experienced practitioners and developing lawyers, this is an environment where you can continue to build confidence, refine your drafting and technical skills, and take on greater responsibility over time, supported by structured mentoring and exposure to quality work.
We place strong importance on culture—our people are approachable, respectful and invested in each other’s success. Your contribution will be valued, and you’ll be supported to grow your career in a collaborative and engaging team.
