With key developments such as the Carpentaria Pilot Project, the company is positioning itself as a major player in Australia’s energy future. As operations expand, we are building a high-performing finance team to support increasingly complex project and commercial activities.
Role Purpose
This is a hands-on role suited to a technically strong accountant seeking meaningful exposure to complex, large-scale energy projects. The Senior Project Accountant will take ownership of project financials across multiple active projects, providing critical insights to support decision-making and ensure financial integrity. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role will also play a key part in strengthening financial processes and supporting the continued growth of the finance and accounting function. In the early phase of team build-out, this role will also take a hands-on approach to accounts payable processing until additional support is appointed.
Role Requirements
Skills & Experience - essential
- Strong technical accounting capability with a solid understanding of capitalisation principles and project cost management
- Proven experience in project accounting, including cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in ERP systems
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Skills & Experience – highly regarded
- CA/CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Experience in oil & gas, energy, mining, construction or other capital-intensive industries
- Exposure to an ASX-listed environment
- Experience working within a growing or evolving finance function
