Role Description

This is a full-time Base24 Developer role based in Melbourne, VIC, offered on a hybrid basis with a mix of on-site and work-from-home arrangements. The Base24 Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain Base24 applications and related payment processing components, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing requirements, writing and reviewing code, creating technical specifications, and implementing enhancements and fixes in the Base24 environment. The role will involve collaborating with product owners, business analysts, and QA engineers to refine user stories, troubleshoot issues, and support deployment activities. The developer will also participate in code reviews, performance tuning, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of development and automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and support Base24 EPS payment processing applications.

• Design and implement enhancements for ATM, POS, and electronic payment systems.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Perform Base24 EPS configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.

• Support transaction routing, authorization, settlement, and reconciliation processes.

• Integrate Base24 EPS with external payment networks and banking applications.

• Investigate and resolve production issues related to transaction processing.

• Work closely with business teams, architects, and vendors for solution delivery.

• Conduct impact analysis, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.

• Ensure compliance with banking and payment industry standards.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Base24 EPS development and support.

• Strong knowledge of ACI Base24 EPS Architecture.

• Experience in ATM, POS, Debit Card, Credit Card, and Payment Switching systems.

• Strong understanding of ISO 8583 messaging standards.

• Experience with transaction authorization, routing, settlement, and reconciliation.

• Hands-on experience with Tandem/HP NonStop systems.

• Knowledge of TACL, TAL, COBOL, Pathway, Enscribe, SQL/MP.

• Experience in payment network integrations such as Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, or domestic switch networks.

• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.

• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release management processes.
