Strategy and Operations Manager, Marketplace

Uber

About The Role

The Marketplace team manages the core mechanics of our ANZ business, responsible for balancing rider and driver supply through pricing, incentives, and operational levers. We provide strategic inputs into forecasting and planning cycles, and ensure the marketplace remains healthy, reliable, and sustainable.

We're looking for a sharp, data driven operator to own our reliability and driver incentives strategy for the ANZ Marketplace team. As a Strategy and Operations Manager, you will lead some of the most critical levers in the marketplace, designing, executing, and optimising incentive and reliability strategies that directly shape driver behaviour, service quality, and overall marketplace health across cities.

You will use data and analytical techniques to frame problems, build hypotheses, and apply structured approaches to solve complex supply and demand challenges. This includes designing experiments, developing analytical models, and partnering closely with global teams to translate insights into scalable marketplace strategies. You will have end to end ownership of high impact initiatives, with your decisions driving immediate, real world outcomes for drivers, riders, and the business.

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of driver incentives and reliability across the ANZ region, driving marketplace health decisions through data-informed decision making.
  • Design, execute, and optimise driver incentive programs using rigorous analysis and experimentation.
  • Develop and maintain analytical frameworks and machine learning models to diagnose marketplace dynamics, including supply elasticity, driver behaviour, and demand patterns.
  • Own governance, reporting, and performance tracking of key marketplace and reliability metrics for senior business leadership
  • Partner closely with Global Product, Operations, Data Science, Marketing, and Finance to test, launch, and scale new marketplace tools, models, and policies
  • Contribute to forecasting, pricing, and planning by incorporating statistical thinking, seasonality, and predictive insights into strategies

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, data analytics, data science or a high growth strategy/consulting role.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and apply data driven approaches to solve them
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel, with experience using data to extract insights from large and complex datasets
  • Experience with Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis or modelling
  • Experience with experimentation and interpreting results to inform business decision making
  • Familiarity with statistical methods or predictive modelling approaches
  • Strong business judgement, with the ability to translate analytical insights into practical, high impact actions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and align cross functional teams
  • Self starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating with high autonomy and delivering results in a fast paced environment
