Business Development Manager - EdTech - Software Sales

With an outstanding global reputation in the EdTech space, our client is regarded by many as the industry leader within the region. Their off the shelf and customised solutions enable their customers to run their schools more efficiently whilst also reducing costs and mitigating risks.

They are currently seeking a BDM to help them further expand their presence in Sydney / NSW (flexible on location - can be based North or South of Sydney with the occasional trip into the city). A consultative, solution seller and problem solver with a new business hunter approach is key.

Key responsibilities

  • New business development - find and win new customers with a focus on selling into schools (predominantly K-12)
  • Identify business pain points using insights led approach
  • Assess market opportunities
  • Achievement of new business sales targets
  • Representation at industry events and conferences
  • Internal and external key stakeholder management
  • Development of strategic account and territory plans, taking ownership for NSW
  • Commercial and legal contractual negotiations

Key skills required

  • New business focus with an ability to create the need/business case from scratch, leveraging off extensive local and international case studies
  • Proven track record of sales achievement – EdTech experience would be ideal but not essential
  • Structured sales approach / methodology
  • Expert at managing short and long sales cycles
  • Gravitas, resilience and "grit" whilst adopting a highly consultative approach suited to the Education sector
