The Role

As a TAFE Teacher in Beauty, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

We have an exciting temporary (12-months) part-time (0.7FTE) Teacher available until 30 June 2027 (unless otherwise determined) to join our Beauty team at TAFE Queensland’s South Bank Campus.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary

The salary range for a Teacher is $92,930.03 – $105,218.10 (full-time) (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary, or $65,051.02 – $73,652.67 (part-time) per annum, plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary (based on 0.7 FTE), depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Requirements

Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed.

• SHB50121 – Diploma of Beauty Therapy or equivalent
• SHB30321 = Certificate III Nail Technology or equivalent

Applicants Must Possess The Following

• Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;
• SHB50121 - Diploma of Beauty Therapy or equivalent
• SHB30321 - Certificate III Nail Technology or equivalent
• current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
• current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
• evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
• Current Queensland Driver’s license.

Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; or
• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
• TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; plus:
• TAELLN411 or its successor or TAELLN401A; and
• TAEASS502 or its successor or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B; or
• A credential issued by a higher education provider which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher and one (1) of the following credentials:
• TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor, or
• TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor; or
• TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set; or
• A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable

Candidates Who Possess The Following Will Be Highly Regarded

• SHB50121 – Diploma of Beauty Therapy or equivalent
• SHB30321 = Certificate III Nail Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years classroom and online teaching experience.
