As a TAFE Lecturer, you will have the opportunity to impart your extensive industry knowledge and experience to students using a variety of delivery methods including in the classroom, online, and workplace. The Role
As a Lecturer in our Civil Engineering team, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.
We have an exciting casual opportunity available until December (unless otherwise determined) to join our Civil Engineering team at South Bank campus.
This position reports to the Operations Manager, Higher Education.
Hourly Rate
The salary for a casual lecturer in higher education is $218.70 per hour.

How You Will Be Assessed
Within the context of the role description above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- The ability to contribute to the development of innovative learning and teaching within an applied learning environment and encouraging students to apply that learning in industry settings.
- The ability to provide high quality course delivery within an applied learning environment, in accordance with Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) standards, with a demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Demonstrated record of achievement as a practitioner with a reputation for skills, knowledge and expertise.
- Superior written and oral communication, influencing and listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and sustain productive internal and external stakeholder relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Mandatory Requirements
- Possession of a doctoral qualification OR masters qualification OR bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline at least one level higher than is awarded for the course of study being delivered; and/or
- Recognised equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise,; and
- Knowledge of contemporary developments in a discipline or field, which is informed by continuing scholarship or research or advances in practice; and
- Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant to a discipline, the role, and modes of delivery and the needs of particular student cohorts.
Highly Desirable
Candidates Who Possess The Following Will Be Highly Regarded
- Current knowledge and expertise in municipal engineering, REVIT, 12D, GIS, engineering mechanics or other specialty civil engineering units
