The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd

Launch a Meaningful Career in Corrections and Rehabilitation

Do you want to build a career where integrity, respect, and making a real difference are central to your day?

Ravenhall Correctional Centre, Victoria's largest medium-security prison, is seeking resilient, empathetic, and mature individuals to join us as Correctional Officers. We’re not just focused on security—we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of re-offending through a proven, evidence-based approach and our unique

Continuum of Care philosophy.

If you are looking for a highly rewarding, stable career with exceptional work-life balance and a starting role that provides comprehensive, paid training, this is your opportunity.

What Makes This Role Unique?

Exceptional Work-Life Balance

This is a Full-Time role structured around a highly favorable shift pattern:

  • Work just 7 days per fortnight.
  • Shifts are primarily 12 hours, maximizing your days off.
  • The centre operates 24/7, requiring flexibility for a blend of day, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts.

The Role: Case Manager and Security Specialist

As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial, dual-focused role. You are both an agent of change and a guardian of security:

  • Be a Case Manager: You will manage a personal portfolio, actively supporting men in our care to address their offending behavior and develop goals for rehabilitation and successful reintegration.
  • Mentor and Motivate: Work directly with individuals—including young adults and those with mental health needs—to support their engagement in education, work, and programs.
  • Collaborate: Join an experienced, multidisciplinary team that includes Clinicians, Health Staff, and partners like Forensicare, YMCA, and TAFE.
  • Maintain Safety: Ensure the security of the Centre by supervising daily activities, performing searches, and conducting escorts.

Your Path to Certification and Success

NO previous experience or qualifications are required. We value your life experience, maturity, and emotional intelligence above all else. We provide everything you need to succeed through our nationally accredited training program:

  • 8 Weeks of Full-Time PAID Training ($31.67 per hour for training). Post successful completion of 8-week training course, annual salary of $80,800 base + superannuation
  • Training Dates (8 Weeks): 12 Octobe r 2026 to 04 December 2026 (Full-time, Monday–Friday).
  • Qualification: Complete your training while working toward a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (CSC30122).
  • Support: Our training is delivered through a blended format of classroom learning, practical exercises, and on-the-job mentorship to ensure you are confident and fully equipped.

Key Benefits and Support

Remuneration: Upon satisfactory completion of the course, you will receive a permanent ongoing offer of full-time employment accompanied by a base salary of $80,800.05 per annum, plus superannuation, and the accrual of 5 weeks' annual leave per annum (for full-time positions).
