The opportunity
Join Hobsons Bay City Council as a Learning and Development Advisor, supporting the delivery of engaging and practical learning programs across the organisation. You’ll manage the LMS, coordinate training, compliance and onboarding, and work closely with leaders and People & Culture to ensure learning is accessible, well-organised, and meets Council needs.
What you’ll do
- Administer and manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including user support, course bookings, records and reporting.
- Coordinate, deliver and facilitate learning and development programs, ensuring they are well-organised, engaging and aligned to organisational priorities.
- Manage induction, onboarding, and mandatory compliance training to support a positive employee experience.
- Maintain accurate training records, track completion rates, and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
- Collaborate with leaders, subject matter experts and People & Culture to identify learning needs.
- Support the implementation of organisational capability initiatives in partnership with the Organisational Capability Partner and People & Culture.
What you need to succeed
- Relevant qualification in Learning & Development, Human Resources or similar/equivalent experience
- Experience managing and administering Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong ability to coordinate and deliver learning programs, including managing logistics and providers.
- Proven stakeholder collaboration skills across leaders and People & Culture.
- Ability to identify learning needs and provide practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
- High attention to detail with strong record-keeping, compliance and reporting skills.
