Freelance Animator – Book Trailer Storyboarding

A unique opportunity is available for a talented animator with strong storyboarding skills to collaborate on a 60–90 second animated trailer for a debut novel and art book hybrid. The project centers on transforming original 2D digital paintings and character illustrations into a compelling animated sequence that captures the essence of the story and its visual style. The ideal candidate will have a passion for narrative-driven animation and experience working with artists to adapt static artwork into dynamic, engaging trailers.

Deliverables

• Develop detailed storyboards based on provided artwork and narrative direction
• Animate 2D digital paintings and character illustrations using live2d or similar animation tools
• Collaborate closely with the author/artist to ensure visual and thematic consistency
• Produce a polished 60–90 second animated trailer suitable for book launch promotion
• Incorporate feedback and revisions as needed to achieve the desired creative vision

Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D animation and storyboarding, preferably for book trailers or similar narrative projects
• Proficiency with live2d or equivalent animation software
• Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to convert static illustrations into animated sequences
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interpret creative briefs and feedback
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, visually engaging work
