Primary objective
Play a key role in delivering regulatory and compliance outcomes across legislation administered by Licensing NT, with a
strong focus on the Liquor portfolio. The role involves undertaking investigations, compliance operations, and field-based
activities, while also supporting education and awareness initiatives across industry and the community.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Contribute to the delivery of regulatory, compliance, and enforcement activities, working collaboratively with internal
teams and external stakeholders.
2. Apply legislation in practical settings and provide clear, actionable advice, undertaking statutory functions where
required.
3. Undertake audits, inspections, and investigations, managing assigned cases from assessment through to resolution.
4. Engage directly with industry, stakeholders, and the community to support compliance outcomes and Licensing NT
objectives.
5. Prepare accurate, evidence-based reports and correspondence, supporting decision-making and enforcement actions.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience working in regulatory, compliance, investigations, or enforcement environments.
2. Demonstrated ability to analyse information, assess risk, solve problems, and conduct investigations.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
4. Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate written reports and documentation.
5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures in practical situations.
6. Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively within a team, manage competing priorities, and
perform effectively in high-pressure environments.
7. Capacity and willingness to undertake fieldwork, including late nights, weekends, and travel to remote locations.
8. Current NT driver’s licence or equivalent.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated understanding of relevant industry trends, compliance challenges, and regulatory frameworks.
2. Completion of Certificate IV or Diploma in Government (investigations) or equivalent or the ability to obtain.

history fingerprint check and an aptitude and/or psychometric test. The selected applicant is required to work in
environments where smoking is permitted and with high noise levels. The successful applicant is required to travel to remote
areas by 4x4 vehicles or by small aircraft.
