About the role:
- Coordinate and support patients throughout their cancer journey, acting as a key contact for patients, families and healthcare professionals from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up care.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary cancer care by coordinating weekly MDT meetings, developing referral pathways, and ensuring smooth transitions between hospitals, specialists, and community services.
- Provide advanced clinical expertise, assessment and supportive care planning for patients with cancer, while advocating for access to treatment options, clinical trials, education and support services.
- Lead quality improvement, policy development, clinical governance and service evaluation activities, using evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Work closely with oncology, haematology, palliative care, allied health, pharmacy and regional health teams, while providing leadership, mentoring, education and support to nursing staff across the service.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA is essential. Qualifications or experience in oncology nursing, or a commitment to completing postgraduate studies in a relevant field, will be highly regarded.
- Bring experience in cancer care, particularly within chemotherapy, medical oncology, haematology or radiation oncology, along with a strong understanding of contemporary cancer care pathways and best-practice nursing.
- Provide clinical leadership in a quality and safety-focused environment, contributing to service improvement, risk management, and the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care.
- Possess excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, manage competing priorities, and utilise clinical information systems to support informed decision-making.
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $14,447 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
