What you’ll do
As the Senior Financial Analyst – Decommissioning, you will play a critical role in supporting the Offshore Australia Business Unit by providing financial accounting, analysis, forecasting and business partnering across decommissioning activities. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will help drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, manage joint venture obligations, and provide valuable insights into decommissioning liabilities and programme outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the finance business partnering relationship for decommissioning activities, delivering financial advice, analysis and insights
- Lead decommissioning month-end, reporting, forecasting and budgeting activities.
- Manage joint venture activities including billings, cash calls, WP&B, AFE’s, audits and JV partner relationships.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, governance requirements and audit obligations. Drive continuous improvement across decommissioning financial processes
What you’ll bring
- CA/CPA qualified (or working towards completion) with a degree in Accounting, Commerce or similar.
- 7+ years' accounting or finance experience, ideally within resources, energy or oil & gas.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering experience.
- Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
- Excellent analytical skills, commercial acumen and attention to detail. Joint venture accounting or decommissioning experience will be highly regarded
