The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's leading public health services, renowned for excellence, innovation and compassionate care. We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance & Process Improvement Specialist to join our Payroll Services team.

This is a specialist role responsible for leading strategic payroll transformation initiatives across RMH and supported health services. Operating within Melbourne Health Financial Shared Services — which processes payroll for over 30,000 employees across 26 complex Enterprise Agreements — you will identify and implement solutions that reduce manual processes, enhance system reliability and ensure payroll operations meet regulatory and audit standards. You will bring deep technical expertise across payroll and rostering systems, lead quality assurance activities and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver meaningful, lasting improvements to payroll operations across the precinct.

About you

  • Extensive experience in payroll systems, compliance and process improvement
  • Strong expertise in testing methodologies including functional, integration, regression and performance testing
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and automation, with proven experience in large, complex environments such as SAP ECC and SuccessFactors
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together

Desirable

  • Project management experience
  • Health or public sector experience
  • Familiarity with rostering systems and enterprise payroll environments
