With over 50 years of industry experience and operations spanning multiple sites nationwide, we're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function from our Head Office.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven payroll leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys leading and developing teams while ensuring payroll compliance and accuracy across a complex workforce.

Your New Role

As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple operations and employee groups.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a payroll team
  • Managing high-volume payroll processing across a diverse workforce
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and company policies
  • Driving payroll accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Managing payroll-related audits, reporting and reconciliations
  • Working closely with HR, Finance and Operational stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting system optimisation and process enhancements
  • Ensuring exceptional service delivery to employees and key stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing large-volume payroll operations
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing sizeable payroll teams
  • Strong experience using UKG payroll systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • The ability to thrive in a complex, multi-site environment

Highly regarded but not essential:

  • Experience with JDE (JD Edwards)
  • Exposure to unionised workforces
  • Experience interpreting and administering Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs)
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple sites, awards and employee classifications
