What you’ll do
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Operations - BigW, your primary purpose is to oversee all DC & Transport functions including business performance, safety, service level and financial expectations, with a huge emphasis on people and team culture.
Ensure Primary Connect is ‘Store Friendly’ through the focus on improving safety, developing capability and cost reduction.
Provide our team members with first class leadership supporting and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace
Sponsor and lead change & continuous improvement initiatives within the DC, including partnering with support functions throughout Primary Connect and other business units in the Big W and Woolworths Group
Promote people strategies across the DC to facilitate ongoing development
Adhere to, and enforce compliance with all legal obligations and requirements eg.enterprise agreements, Chain of Responsibility along with company policies and processes and DC Work Instructions
Promote safety values and implement safety, health and environment policies and systems to embed safety into the culture and ways of working
Build a site succession plan that enables distributive leadership to deliver best in class customer service.
Actively demonstrate and regulate the Woolworths Code of Conduct, Our Core Values and Ways of Working in daily behaviour and conduct
Manage the cost of service delivery within an agreed budget whilst achieving agreed service level to stores to provide best price possible outcome for our customers
Drive accountability within the business, ensure that the elements of Primary Connect culture are embedded at all levels
What you’ll bring
Engaging & supportive people leadership style that involves collaboration with a wide circle of people across the organisation, where you are required to drive and influence change.
Proven leadership experience in FMCG, Distribution, retail, people management
Success in a similar role in Supply Chain or Manufacturing operations
Demonstrated effective change management skills
High level of stakeholder management, influencing and networking skills
Ability to deliver high quality outputs under pressure
A track record of leading and implementing change initiatives.
Strong financial and business sense with the ability to manage complex operations effectively.
Knowledge of Six Sigma or lean processing principles
Excellence in delivering operational excellence in complex and matrixed organisation
Deep understanding of safety protocols and risk management, with a commitment to ensuring that safety is embedded in all aspects of operations.
