The Role

We are looking for a passionate junior lawyer to join our Brisbane Commercial Disputes & Insolvency team working alongside Stephen Dickens. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a commercial mindset, and a genuine interest in subrogated insurance recoveries and settlements, with significant insurer clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of subrogated recovery and settlement matters
  • Drafting pleadings, correspondence, advices, and settlement proposals
  • Conducting legal research and assist with strategy development
  • Liaising with insurers, loss adjusters, experts, and opposing parties, as well as Counsel
  • Advocacy at Settlement Conferences, on Applications and trial work
  • Supporting senior lawyers on higher value and technically complex claims

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Between 1-3 years’ PQE in insurance, litigation, or an in-house role
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in insurance, property damage, and recoveries litigation
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, proactive, and eager to develop technical expertise
