Lead Network Engineer - Architecture, Delivery & Governance

The Role

Leading Australian enterprise seeks to appoint a Lead Network Engineer to provide technical leadership across a large and complex APAC network environment.

From Day 1

You'll be the technical lead for network-related projects, working closely with stakeholders, project managers, vendors and service providers to ensure solutions align with business objectives, architecture standards and long-term strategy.

You'll bring strong enterprise networking experience, with the ability to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical outcomes, review solution designs and identify technical risks before they become delivery issues.

You'll be comfortable engaging architects, vendors and senior stakeholders, providing trusted advice and ensuring network solutions are scalable, secure and fit for purpose.

Grow in to..

..your understanding of the environment, the roadmap and strategic priorities develops and you'll become increasingly involved in architecture governance, vendor management and technology decision-making.

You'll contribute to major initiatives across SD-WAN, cloud networking, security and infrastructure transformation, while building deeper exposure to enterprise architecture, solution assurance and long-term technology planning.

You'll work alongside experienced technology leaders and specialist partners, expanding your influence across projects, platforms and business units.

..you'll help shape the future direction of networking across the organisation.

Your contribution will influence architecture decisions, technology investments, delivery standards and vendor outcomes. You'll play a key role in ensuring network capabilities continue to evolve in line with business growth, security requirements and strategic objectives across the APAC region.

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience in enterprise networking, network engineering or technical leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of routing, WAN, SD-WAN, network security and enterprise networking principles.
• Experience contributing to the design, delivery or review of enterprise network solutions.
• Ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders, project teams, vendors and architects.
• Experience translating business requirements into practical technical outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge, influence and guide technical discussions.
• Experience with Fortinet technologies is highly regarded. Candidates with strong Cisco, Palo Alto or comparable enterprise networking backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in continuing to develop your architecture, governance and delivery leadership capability.
