We are looking for a Head of Active to lead participation, inclusion and community connection across Active Merri-bek.

This is a leadership role where you will shape programs, build partnerships and increase access for all.

About The Role

You will:

  • Lead participation growth across facilities and the wider community
  • Develop programs that increase access, inclusion and engagement
  • Build strong partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders
  • Deliver events and initiatives that reach diverse and at-risk groups
  • Drive customer service excellence
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement participation growth strategies
  • Design and deliver community programs and services
  • Drive access, equity and inclusion outcomes
  • Build strong partnerships with community groups and stakeholders
  • Lead events and initiatives to increase participation
  • Undertake market research, especially with non-users
  • Deliver customer service excellence strategies
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes and performance
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team

About You

You are:

  • Passionate about community development and social impact
  • An experienced leader who builds strong teams
  • Confident working with community groups and stakeholders
  • Strong in communication, reporting and strategy
  • A champion for inclusion and access

What You Bring

  • Experience in community development or similar
  • Proven leadership and program delivery experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to drive participation and business outcomes

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Understanding of safe manual handling and delegated practice
  • Current Working with Children Check (where required)
  • National Police Check
